How if I use hemiwalker because my right arm,hand, can’t move and fingers can’t hold

@carolc3102 says:

You said all of that so very well.

Reluctance people have about taking a shower has a strong basis….in the unknown. It’s like leaving the house when there’s been ice on the steps and walkway. It’s fear. It’s your mind being air traffic controller.

Use dollar store pool noodles. If laid next to the curb of the shower floor, now I can have a visual cue, no bumping is a plus.
Put a pink pool noodle in the corner…..depth perception.
When I’ve assisted someone, I say, it’s a phone booth….left foot first….draw the next foot now. They're holding the safety bar, I’m gently holding them at the waist.

Use dollar store rubberized shelf paper to the floor and the shower chair seat. A slight slip…it’s unnerving….use rubberized shelf rolled material
Try at least.

For me, a chair doesn’t work, knees hurt. But, it’s okay to have a walker without wheels, it’s stabilizing.
For me shampoo is disorienting and of course, foot washing is done in the bedroom, a separate activity.

I took screenshots of you. I have flashcards now, will help me remember all that you’ve said.

This is great, and so are you.

I have a vertical grab bars inside the shower and also one outside

@chris-4566 says:

After my stroke, the first job my wife had done was to take out the bath and replace it with a walk in shower. I was unconscious and in hospital at the time so I only knew about it after it was done. When I shower, my wife puts a plastic chair in to the cubicle so I can sit down. It was a game-changer and I walk in to the shower just by either having one hand on the wall or gently hold on to the glass screen to make my way to the chair.

I only have one arm working because of stroke

Thank you so much for this information.. good one.. Thank u mam🙏🏻💐

@ernestreid9296 says:

Great idea. Even if we have walk in showers at home we still have to know how to walk over and into a bathtub to take a shower. I travel a lot. Some hotels have walk in showers. But not all. Most have grab bars but not all. When traveling you have to be ready for any thing. Quite often I am afraid to get into a tub shower. The thought of falling and cracking my head open scares me. I have to slow down, breath deeply, relax and think about what I am doing. I haven't fallen yet.

Thank you so much Dr Tara Tobias for this deep informative video. 😊
I've got so important suggestion regarding the walking method. Putting affected leg as long as possible Considering center of mass, as we can quickly recover the imbalance with our unaffected leg.
Thank you so much 😊
