Full Body Isometric Strength Workout for Beginners & Seniors // All Standing & Knee Friendly

Please join me and try this new strength workout! This video will be a different challenge for you because it focuses on isometric exercises. An isometric exercise is when we hold the weight in a static position so the muscle stays contracted. It’s a great way to work our muscles in a different and functional way. Give it a try and let me know what you think! Go at your own pace. We have 40 seconds of work, 10 seconds of isometric hold, followed by 10 seconds of rest.
For demonstration purposes, I’m using a set of 5 pound hand weights. Feel free to go lighter or heavier based on your abilities.
Want more of a challenge or see strength gains sooner? I strongly encourage you do this workout twice through. A second set would really accelerate your results. Warm up and cool down are included in this workout. The strength portion is exactly 15 minutes. Do it twice for a 30 minute workout!
Osteoporosis friendly! This video is perfect for strength training for seniors with osteoporosis. There are no movements that include rounding of the spine or twisting the back and the strength training is perfect to build muscle mass and bone density!
Grab a chair to serve as a base of support for a few of the exercises.
The entire full body workout is performed in a standing position.

I'm applauding you – can you hear it?! I did do the 2nd round, and loved the feeling of a full workout. I used 5 pound dumbbells too, really felt it when we did the lateral raise. I really benefited drom the advice duing the split deadlift move to press into the floor and put the weight into the heel. It's amazing how a simple looking move and light dumbbells can be so effective! And that straight leg lift! Oh my – I thought I was in pretty good shape! Thank you so very much.
