In this video a physiotherapist demonstrates gentle exercises for degenerative disc disease, a form of sciatica. The aim of these exercises is to strengthen, mobilise and stabilise the surrounding area in order to prevent any further pain. This video is part of a series on exercises for sciatica. Learn about the causes of sciatica http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Sciatica/Pages/Causes.aspx
Has anyone found relief from leg pain by following these exercises (in respect of degenerative disc disease)?
Thanks.
This is very good, thank you, for your style.
Self massage of psoas muscles deep in abdomen consistently help me.
Some good simple exercises but I consistently find, and have had this confirmed by two specialist physios who teach clinical Pilates, that it is really important not to overdo the abdominal/pelvic floor contraction. This simply worsens the area.
Won’t help s bulging disc especially twisting from side to side
Degenerative Disc disease is not a "form of sciatica." Sciatica is not a disease. It is a set of symptoms related to numerous issues including Piriformis Syndrome, Bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, central and foraminal stenosis of the spine. Sciatica is a symptom, not a disease.
If you have sciatica (as per your title), then one usually has pain.
What ab exercises can you do with DDD?
Good exercises. Although they seem so simple, when done correctly and continually, one will see a world of relief!
