Balance, Strength & Core Workout to Improve Stability for Beginners & Seniors
30 minute all standing workout for beginners and seniors. Join me for a great workout that will challenge your balance and brain!
All these exercises were designed to work together for improved stability. You will tone your lower body with leg exercises using big dynamic movements. You will use one dumbbell to strength train your upper body while simultaneously working on your balance. Having good balance takes lots of practice! Please be patient with yourself until it improves.
We will also complete some standing core exercises. Core strength is crucial for good balance! Make sure you start at a slow pace and keep your core engaged by pulling your belly button up and in.
I’m using one 4 pound hand weight. Any dumbbell from 1-8 pounds would work well.
I’m also not wearing any footwear. I encourage you to also be barefoot. It’s important for the muscles in your feet to be able to feel the floor. Heavy, flat bottom shoes can impede your progress. All exercises are zero impact so there is no need to be concerned about joint support.
I hope you love this challenging balance, strength and core workout! Let me know in the comments section. You will feel better and stand taller.
Thank you for working out with me 😃

I had to hold on a chail most of the time !!!
Are these suitable for an absolute beginner? I'm not athletic, and my weight is average
Awesome workout!
Great combination, as always, Lauren. God bless! 🙌🙏
Why is your Channel
Called senior shape? I’m not a senior. Is this workout for elderly?
That was absolutely amazing 👏. Thanks so much. You are so professional and very pleasant too
This was fantastic! Balance work is so important. With the addition of strength that was an extra fun challenge! My husband just asked how I am and my reply was GREAT🥰 Thank you for this essential workout. Happy spring my dear💐
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a big difference between SAYING your exercises are for seniors/beginners and actually being such!
Beautifully demonstrated, I'm loving this and in return, I will keep you posted on how this works out and progresses.
Thanks a mill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another great workout – having been prescribed balance work today by my physio, to aid recovery following knee surgery. Thank you Lauren! xx
Needed something a little bit lower intensity and impact after getting my booster shot. This was great! I hope to have this level of balance when I'm a senior (and even just now 😂). Those toe sweeps were tough!
This is my favorite particular work out of the ones I can do [pre-existing injuries, etc.]. I would greatly appreciate more along this line/this type as I find that growing older? Bbbb…Balance seems to be EVERYTHING. Improving my balance gives me more confidence to do more strength and core! Thank you SO MUCH! I do 1 episode every morning!
Thanks for this workout that addresses three of my fitness goals. ☺️
Love your programs ,I practice every day, thanks!🇹🇼
This may look simple, but proper form makes all the difference!! A really great workout; thank you.
Another amazing workout and stretches incredible! I had a friend join me today and she also loved this workout and will be subscribing to your channel.
Two Thumbs Up on this one. I have done several of your videos. Love your style. Your cues and tips are timed perfectly – it's like having a personal trainer. Challenging but not ridiculous. Love that you are friendly and personable without being a hyper Chatty Cathy. Thank you.
Another great workout even if I did have to hold onto my chair a lot of the time. I’m telling myself that just means if I keep it up, a few months from now I should feel a big difference in my balance. 😌
Another great workout! Thanks Lauren, I’m hooked on your YouTube Channel 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I totally sucked at this. Will definitely keep doing it in hopes of improving.
I like this one before golf!
