You shoulder is your most-mobile joint in your body. This is because of the “ball and socket” anatomical arrangement. The “ball” of your humerus (arm bone) sits up in the “socket” of your scapula (shoulder blade) to allow for three dimensions of movement.
Now that humeral head (or “ball”) must sit squarely in the center of the socket in order to function correctly. However this doesn’t always happen.
Often times there’s superior migration (or “upward movement”) of the ball in the socket that causes one of your rotator cuff tendons to get “pinched”. In the medical world, this pinching is referred to as “impingement” and can be a miserable condition.
It often lead to irritation of the tendon in the shoulder, then inflammation, and eventually fraying and tearing of your rotator cuff.
Luckily the right exercises for your shoulder can really help.
In this video, I’ll show you three simple stretches to relieve impingement pain on your tendon immediately and then also simple rotator cuff exercises you can do at home to help keep the pain from coming back.

Thank you! I had two tears in my RC. I've been on prescription anti-inflammatories for weeks which didn't help much and I've tried a bunch of other exercises to no avail. These brought immediate (lasting) relief and I was able to ditch the drugs.

It is tight when I do that first and second test… BUUTTTTT, The chair and the wall test hurts like he.. double hockey sticks! So does that mean it's a rotator cuff?

Hi, Dr. Jared, I am from the Philippines. I am a subscriber and a regular viewer of your videos. I have a problem with a pain above the middle part of my right clavicle. I believe I got it while overdoing a pull-over exercise. I have tried all your shoulder treatments, but I know that they are not the answer, for my pain is NOT on my shoulder muscles, but, like I said, they are above the middle part of the clavicle area, like beneath that area.
How do I treat it, as I need to continue my strength training exercises, to get back in shape?

Hello there sir. Im new to your channel and was wondering if theses exercises would benefit my situation. Las year I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. Since then I have ongoing stomach pain. I’ve always been a stomach sleeper and changing the way I sleep has been a task. I start by sleeping on my back but during the night I work my way to my side. This has turned out to be problematic for me since now by shoulder is killing me. It has gotten to the point to where it burns when I either reach across to my right shoulder and can only lift my arm half way. Also I cannot reach behind my back. I’m currently waiting for my Doctor to call me to see if I can get a referral to a therapist but the VA is not quick to respond. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you…
