Fit Over 60! Today we discuss this 62 year old’s Complete Fitness Program. My Complete Fitness Program consists of what I consider to be the 4 most important pillars of my Fitness Platform:

Strength
Nutrition
Cardiovascular Health
Flexibility

Each of these must carry equal value every day in order to achieve a well rounded fitness program.

Thank you ALL so very much for taking the time to visit and all of your generous support and encouragement! We are all in this together!

My table has at least 5 legs … The 5th one: sleep. It's getting difficult to balance your table with so many legs. Some people say it may beneficial to skip sometimes 1 hour of gym workout for an extra 1 hour of sleeping.

The flexibility leg is always the shortest. , And as we older boys know , we have to keep it as long as the others .
Time being the issue with myself , rushing work outs into limited time slots during the working week, which in my case is usually seven days.!
Looking forward to the promised video. Keep up the good work

Thanks for your thoughts on a balanced approach to fitness Mark! I have been thinking about flexibility lately as well. On one hand, I believe flexibility is already incorporated during warm up movements during strength training where perfect form and full range motions are key. On the other hand, my love of cycling often results in tight hamstrings and calves that means I'm constantly having to stretch those areas to stay limber. I also use a percussion style massage gun that does an amazing job on tight muscles after working out. Simply stretching cold muscles is somewhat controversial and even linked with injury. So again, full range motions during warm up movements to me seems our best bet on remaining and even improving flexibility.

Good video, Mark. You provided some artwork to help facilitate the viewer(s) as they try to turn their bodies into works of art! Well, maybe not the kind that would be considered 'museum quality', but we do the best we can as we can, right? I don't consider my diet to be a train wreck, but it could stand to be better. Sometime, I get down on myself for not being able to lift as heavy as I think I should be doing, but that's tempered by the size gains I've made on parts of my body over the past two and a half years. Granted, I've been in the 'newbie' phase of working out, but I think I'm transitioning into intermediate status, because my gains are coming at a slower rate (or so I think). Flexibility is an issue for me lately. I find if I sit too long, I'm a little stiff once I stand up. After moving about for a few seconds, that tends to correct itself. I recently had a CT scan at the suggestion of my cardiologist. Got the report today. It wasn't too promising, so I'm a little ticked off about that. Then again, I'm no doctor, so I'll wait to see what he says about it. I could be bummed out about nothing.
