I've never done Pilates (or any other exercise before) what do you mean when you say "actively engage the muscles"? What does it mean when you say to push through and plug down?

Great video. But I have a question: aren’t hamstring stretches not indicated for sciatica? It seems you have 2exercises that stretch the hamstrings.

If you have sciatica / bulging discs in the lower back, rounding your back is the absolute worst….which is done 90% of the exercises in this video 🙁
