Four stretches to help prevent and relieve sciatic nerve pain in the low back and legs.

The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the whole body, and if you suffer from sciatic nerve pain you’re probably not surprised by this. The pain feels debilitating and relentless. I suffered from sciatic nerve pain in my low back and down the back of my legs for years, and in this video I share with you the stretches that helped relieve this chronic pain, and prevent it from ever returning. I do some version of these stretches every day and I haven’t had sciatic pain in years. I’m excited to share these stretches with you, and I’m hopeful that they will help you as much as they did me.

These stretches are great for yogis of all experience levels, including beginners, and for bodies of all shapes and sizes. Always listen to your body, take breaks whenever necessary, skip or modify any poses that feel unreasonable in your body, and most importantly HAVE FUN 😉

if sciatica occurs from a herniated disk on lower spine (disk L1- L5), don't do these. don't bend forward that much altogether, it will rupture the disk even more. bend your knees for lifting, dont bend forward with straight legs

I WiSH I could even get close to these:( month 5 of extreme sciatica- there’s no way I can put my legs up on the walls like that. I wish he would give a video for those of us in more acute pain. Can’t sit on my butt for the second exercise. Stopped watching after that

I am actually hypermobile. I have Taylor's danlos syndrome and both of my hips, all the ligaments and tendons, have been hurting me for over 20 years. And now I have piriformis syndrome. It's hard for me to stretch that muscle because I'm so limber. But it's very very tender. What should I do?
