The Romberg series starts out on the easier side, but can get harder. When you place your feet together, it makes your base of support smaller, and this makes your muscles work harder. You can do Romberg with your eyes open, eyes closed, head turns side to side, head movements up and down, and on an uneven surface.
You can also do all of these with a tandem stance. Tandem is when one foot is directly in front of the other. You can modify this by just placing one slightly ahead of the other.

This is great! Thank so much. I had been (incorrectly) diagnosed with Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, but I only get my balance issues in dim light or darkness (I sometimes look like a drunk walking at night). I was just reading on Ototoxicity and know I had a few years where I was on antibiotics almost constantly. I'm hoping these exercises help!
I'm deaf and it's serious hard for me to stand with eyes closed even for 3 seconds. I dunno how I'm supposed to get around that.
i’ve always walked on my top toes now my balance is terrible , hoping to improve

These look great. I will need to do balance PT when I’m cleared from my spinal fusion. I have a feeling that things are going to shut down again due to delta. I want to get back to yoga, and you know yoga requires balance!
how long do you hold each one?
I had no trouble with the Romberg exercises. However, I couldn’t do any of the tandems without holding on.
This is great. Thanks for all your excellent videos.
